Radio was to be the death of books
Television was to be the death of radio
Satellite was to be the death of AM/FM
Internet is to be the death of television
While we always want to believe that the new, cooler medium will kill an older medium, it’s actually very hard to kill a communications method. Heck, we even have morse code in a limited form today.
While I see where trade mags certainly work better online, I doubt that they will die. Be reborn, find a new nitch, yes. Die, go away, no.
I will say that as you mentioned in the interview, CES 2007 was awesome for bloggers. While I don’t think that old mediums will die easily, new mediums such as videocasts, podcasts and blogs will grow at exponential rates.
Just my humble opinion.
