So, I’m not the best coder on the planet. With some help, I can do some nice things - but not by my lonesome. In trying to set up a podcast and videocast RSS feed that would play nice with iTunes, I came across this FeedForAll tutorial. In essence, it shows you where the tags should go, and what exactly each tag does, and where the information within that tag is displayed in iTunes. Check it out if you are looking to creating an iTunes-friendly feed.

Great link and good article talking about iTunes tags. I would also like to point out that Feedburner will take care of a lot of the tags for you and ensure that your RSS feed is in a format that iTunes will like. It also supports tracking and a bunch of other fun things.
It’s good to have the format set before the feed is “burned” as feedburner can’t fix everything, but I think it’s a nice addon if you’re not already using it. We use it to track subscribers to our blog, podcasts and videocasts which also helps us get compatibility with as many players and readers as possible.
